Helping your child feel calm, confident and ready for secondary school.

Starting secondary school is a big step and it’s completely normal for children to feel a mix of excitement and worry.

The Brave Start Programme offers a small, supportive group where you people can explore their thoughts, build confidence, and feel more prepared for the transition to Year 7.

This course is run by SWR and Susan Grainger Therapy.

Who it's for

Children in Year 6 who are moving into Year 7 (ages 10-11)
  • Feel more confident about starting secondary school
  • Learn ways to manage worries and big feelings.
  • Connect with others going through the same transition

What we'll do

This informal, fun course uses gentle guided journaling activities to explore common worries about moving to secondary school. It builds confidence and coping strategies, encouraging self-expression in a relaxed environment.

Sessions are 90 minutes each, in small groups and no writing experience is needed.
